Head Tilt Syndrome

The head tilt disease is something new to me for i have not seen a rabbit tilt his/her head like it. As per journal that i have read through, the possible causes of such disease are;

- Middle/inner ear infection (otitis media /interna)

- Stroke (cerebrovascular accidents)

- Trauma

- Cancer (neoplasia)

- Cervical muscle contraction

- Encephalitozoonosis

- Cerebral larva migrans

- Intoxication

From Kits to Buck or Doe

1 Month in age 

Breeder usually starts to sell of their kits at the age of 1 month. Reason of selling at that particular point is due to in that age the kits probability of being sell are much higher than compare with when they are 2 or 3 months in age.

 The kits that are being separated early from their mother will have high probability to get sick and some cases even death. Most of the case of early separation, the kits will have diarrhea. Symptoms of diarrhea can be seen by the looks of their droppings. Normal droppings will be in brownish color and in a ball shape. (dropping color vary, it is depends on their food product and types)

 The ideal age to start separating the kits from their mother is at the age of 2 months. At that age the mother will usually laid of a different kind of urine smells. The smells will make any nearby buck knows that the doe was in heat and ready to have sex.

Breeder face many problem during the caring of newly born kits.
My main problem is that the kits often falls outside of the cage due to the mother is hopping around while breast feed. Kits that falls outside of the cage got risk of:

- being eaten by predator.

- crawling to unknown places.

- die of starvation.

The design of the nesting box are base on the sample i found from other breeder. The process of making the nesting box will take around 3 days only.

Sell off one..

Today as on June 09,2012 i sell off my kits that born 2 months back..

Reason of selling is because the baby buck was all alone..it started as 6 kits but 1 by 1 died due to cats and some are eaten by their mother..

normally the mother only eat or bite the kits when they are lack of protein or they thinks that the environment is not safe enough for the kits to be around..

this is the 3rd time the mother gave birth and i finally succeed in taking care 1 of them..hahah..even though just 1 survive..

I sell Syla at my local pet store..i really expect that the price will be around RM30+ but the pet store only buy Syla from me for RM12..that was really frustrating..but since this is my first time of doing it..i gladly accept the offer..the pet store recommend me to sell the kits at 4 weeks of age but i really will try not to do that due to the kits still need the mother milks at the time of age..

Rabbit and me~~

This is the first post about this blog..and it is about my pets..and how i make my pets to earn me cash..i hope so..

it is all started when i see my cousin breed her rabbits and sell the kits to the pet store and other people..and he really succeed in doing the business..

so me as a student that were always short on cash was hoping that this plan will help me to buy some personal stuff that able to fulfill my needs..

i start off with 2 kits taken from my cousin..i drove all the way to the south for 4 hours just to get the kits..they was pretty small and 1 of them were eaten by my cat as soon as i reach home..

it was obviously my fault..i release them in my garden without properly looking at them..

He's alone

Bought a new 1 from the pet store

so i bought a new 1 from the nearby pet store..

at this time i thought that the one that survive from my cats is a doe..so the one i bought is a buck so that they would pair up and make lots of kits for me to sell..

but really unfortunate for me..after several months they both have testicles..and they have been humping before their testicles pop out..hahaha..really weird moment there..
